As of the end of the second quarter of 2026, pension fund accounts appeared among the top-10 circulating shareholders of 120 listed companies, holding a combined 1.188 billion shares valued at RMB 28.674 billion. The largest holding was in CNOOC Energy Development, with 85.8364 million shares. Pension funds held over RMB 100 million in 69 stocks, with Mingyang Electric having the highest proportion at 6.61% of circulating shares. Among 74 profit-growing firms, Oukei saw net profit surge 47,734.24%.
As of the end of the second quarter of 2026, pension fund accounts appeared on the top-10 circulating shareholder lists of 120 listed companies, with total shareholdings of 1.188 billion shares and a combined market value of RMB 28.674 billion at the period end.
In terms of share volume, pension funds held the most shares in CNOOC Energy Development, with the Basic Pension Insurance Fund 15032, 15031, and 808 portfolios ranking as the ninth, seventh, and third largest circulating shareholders respectively, holding a combined 85.8364 million shares. Zhejiang Longsheng followed, with the Basic Pension Insurance Fund 802 portfolio as its sixth largest circulating shareholder, holding 78.5018 million shares.
By period-end market value, pension funds held over RMB 100 million in 69 stocks, including CFMOTO, China Tungsten and Hightech, and Sunresin New Materials. In terms of shareholding ratio, Mingyang Electric had the highest pension fund stake, with the Basic Pension Insurance Fund 1205 portfolio as its largest circulating shareholder at the end of the second quarter, holding 10.9933 million shares, or 6.61% of circulating shares. Sunresin New Materials and Dadi Ocean followed with pension fund ratios of 6.5% and 4.85%, respectively.
Pension funds and social security funds are both managed by the National Council for Social Security Fund. Statistics show that among pension fund heavy holdings, 66 stocks also had social security funds on their top-10 circulating shareholder lists. For example, in CNOOC Energy Development, pension funds held 85.8364 million shares, and one social security fund appeared among its top-10 circulating shareholders. In terms of holding duration, the longest-held stock by pension funds was Jiajiayue, which has appeared on the company's top-10 circulating shareholder list for 31 consecutive reporting periods, with the latest holding of 6.6054 million shares, unchanged from the previous quarter.
By board distribution, among the stocks held by pension funds, 86 were on the main board, 8 on the STAR Market, and 26 on the ChiNext. In terms of performance, among the stocks with pension fund presence, 74 reported net profit growth in their half-year reports, with Oukei recording the highest increase, posting net profit of RMB 370.8847 million, up 47,734.24% year on year.
