Pension Funds Appear in Top 10 Shareholders of 168 Stocks, Holdings Worth RMB 35.33 Billion
As of the end of the second quarter of 2026, pension fund accounts appeared among the top ten circulating shareholders of 168 listed companies, holding a combined 1.573 billion shares valued at RMB 35.33 billion. They newly entered 59 stocks and increased stakes in 35. Among the largest holdings were CNOOC Energy Development and Zhejiang Longsheng. The highest ownership ratio was in Mingyang Electric at 6.61% of circulating shares. Pension funds and social security funds, both managed by the National Council for Social Security Fund, co-appeared in 82 stocks.
As of the end of the second quarter of 2026, pension fund accounts appeared on the top ten circulating shareholder lists of 168 listed companies, with total holdings of 1.573 billion shares and a closing market value of RMB 35.33 billion. Among these, 59 were new positions and 35 were increased holdings.
The largest holding by volume was CNOOC Energy Development, where the Basic Pension Insurance Fund portfolios 15032, 15031, and 808 ranked as its ninth, seventh, and third largest circulating shareholders, respectively, holding a combined 85.8364 million shares. The second largest was Zhejiang Longsheng, where the Basic Pension Insurance Fund portfolio 802 was its sixth largest circulating shareholder, holding 78.5018 million shares.
A total of 90 stocks had pension fund holdings with a closing market value exceeding RMB 100 million, including CFMOTO, China Tungsten and Hightech, and Sunresin New Materials. The highest ownership ratio was in Mingyang Electric, where the Basic Pension Insurance Fund portfolio 1205 was its largest circulating shareholder, holding 10.9933 million shares, representing 6.61% of circulating shares. Sunresin New Materials and Qingmu Technology had ownership ratios of 6.50% and 5.18%, respectively.
Among the pension fund heavy holdings, 82 stocks also had social security funds among their top ten circulating shareholders. For instance, CNOOC Energy Development had one social security fund in its top ten. Both pension funds and social security funds are managed by the National Council for Social Security Fund.
In terms of holding duration, Yinlun Machinery has appeared on the top ten circulating shareholder list for 35 consecutive reporting periods, with the latest holding of 7.034 million shares, down 28.17% quarter-on-quarter. CNOOC Energy Development and Zhejiang Longsheng have been held for at least two consecutive reporting periods.
By board distribution, 117 stocks were on the main board, 14 on the STAR Market, and 37 on the ChiNext. By industry, the largest concentrations were in machinery and equipment (23 stocks) and pharmaceuticals and biotechnology (19 stocks). In terms of performance, 96 companies reported net profit growth in their half-year reports, with the highest increase at OKE Precision Cutting Tools, whose net profit reached RMB 370.8847 million, up 47,734.24% year-on-year.
