Pension Funds Appear in Top Shareholders of 40 Stocks with RMB 13.22 Billion Holdings

Pension fund accounts appeared among the top ten circulating shareholders of 40 stocks at the end of the second quarter of 2026, holding 512 million shares worth a combined RMB 13.22 billion. CRRC had the largest pension fund holding at 72.2 million shares, followed by YTO Express. Sunresin had the highest pension fund stake at 6.5% of circulating shares. Twenty stocks also counted social security funds among their top shareholders. CHINT Electric had the longest pension fund presence at 23 consecutive reporting periods. Among the 40 stocks, 25 reported net profit growth in interim results, led by CSPC Innovation with a 46,025.71% year-on-year increase.

By share count, CRRC had the largest pension fund holding, with the Basic Pension Insurance Fund 2004 portfolio as its ninth-largest circulating shareholder holding 72.1977 million shares. YTO Express ranked second, with the Basic Pension Insurance Fund 802 portfolio as its eighth-largest circulating shareholder holding 47.6249 million shares.

By market value at the end of the period, 29 stocks had pension fund holdings exceeding RMB 100 million, including CFMOTO, Sunresin and Jereh. In terms of holding ratio, Sunresin had the highest pension fund stake: the Basic Pension Insurance Fund 16022 portfolio was its third-largest circulating shareholder at the end of the second quarter, holding 20.0154 million shares, or 6.5% of circulating shares. Hiron and CFMOTO followed with pension fund holding ratios of 4.69% and 3.93%, respectively.

Both pension funds and social security funds are managed by the National Council for Social Security Fund. Statistics show that 20 of the pension fund's heavy holdings also had social security funds among their top ten circulating shareholders. For example, YTO Express, in which the pension fund holds 47.6249 million shares, had one social security fund among its top ten circulating shareholders. In terms of holding duration, CHINT Electric had the longest pension fund presence, appearing in the company's top ten circulating shareholder list for 23 consecutive reporting periods, with the latest holding of 20.8798 million shares, unchanged from the previous quarter.

By board distribution, among the stocks held by pension funds, 31 were on the main board, 3 on the STAR Market and 6 on the ChiNext board. By industry, pension fund holdings were concentrated in power equipment and basic chemicals, with 6 stocks in each sector. In terms of performance, 25 of the stocks with pension fund presence reported net profit growth in their half-year reports. The highest growth was at CSPC Innovation, which posted net profit of RMB 1.261186 billion, up 46,025.71% year on year.
