S&P 500 Rises 0.6% to Fresh Record High

The S&P 500 rose 0.6% to a record high on August 13, breaking through the 7,800-point level for the first time. The index later extended gains to 0.86%, while the Dow added 0.45% and the Nasdaq climbed 1.01%. Super Micro Computer led advancers with a near 6% jump, and Robinhood, Netflix, SanDisk, and Intel each rose over 4%.

During US trading on August 13, the S&P 500 opened higher and gained 0.6% in early trade, then extended its advance to 0.66% as it broke through the 7,800-point level for the first time. The index continued to climb, setting a fresh intraday record high. Among constituents, Super Micro Computer rose nearly 6% to lead gains, while Robinhood, Netflix, SanDisk, and Intel each advanced more than 4%.

US stocks subsequently fluctuated higher. As of writing, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.45%, the Nasdaq Composite had expanded its gain to 1.01%, and the S&P 500 was up 0.86%, continuing to set new record highs.
