Shanghai-Listed Firms Declare 633 Billion Yuan in Interim Dividends
In the first half of 2026, 427 companies listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange declared interim dividends totaling 633 billion yuan, up year on year. The six largest state-owned banks contributed 220.9 billion yuan, and 16 companies each paid out over 10 billion yuan, with multiple annual payouts becoming common among profitable firms.
The Shanghai Stock Exchange reported that in the first half of 2026, 427 listed companies announced interim dividends, with total cash distributions reaching 633 billion yuan, maintaining year-on-year growth. Among them, the six major state-owned banks together declared 220.9 billion yuan in interim dividends, and 16 companies each distributed more than 10 billion yuan. A growing number of high-quality companies with steady profit growth and ample operating cash flow have made multiple dividend payments per year a regular practice.
