Shanghai Composite Gains 0.67% on Aug 10; Nonferrous Metals Attract RMB1.327 billion Inflow, Electronics Lead
On August 10, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.67%. Nonferrous metals gained 2.02%, drawing a net main-capital inflow of RMB1.327 billion, while electronics posted the largest outflow of RMB19.208 billion. Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery advanced 3.14%, and food and beverage rose 2.51%. Power equipment led sector inflows with RMB1.727 billion, up 0.71%. Telecommunications, electronics and computer declined 3.16%, 0.49% and 0.26% respectively. Total main capital across the two markets was a net RMB36.411 billion outflow.
On August 10, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.67%. Among the Shenwan-classified industries, 28 sectors advanced that day. Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, and food and beverage led the gains, rising 3.14% and 2.51% respectively, while the nonferrous metals sector gained 2.02%. The sectors with the biggest declines were telecommunications, electronics and computer, down 3.16%, 0.49% and 0.26% respectively.
On the capital front, main funds across the two markets recorded a net outflow of RMB36.411 billion for the day. Eighteen sectors saw net main-capital inflows, with power equipment leading at RMB1.727 billion; the sector rose 0.71% that day. Food and beverage attracted RMB1.503 billion and gained 2.51%. Thirteen sectors had net main-capital outflows, led by electronics with RMB19.208 billion, followed by telecommunications at RMB16.310 billion. Other notable outflows included computer, non-bank financials and building materials.
The nonferrous metals sector rose 2.02%, with a full-day net main-capital inflow of RMB1.327 billion. Of its 140 constituent stocks, 111 advanced, including 4 at the daily limit, while 28 declined. Data showed 81 stocks in the sector had net capital inflows, with 20 exceeding RMB100 million. Xianglu Tungsten led with RMB310 million, followed by Shengtun Mining and Huayou Cobalt at RMB293 million and RMB265 million respectively. Eight stocks posted net outflows above RMB100 million: Yunnan Germanium had a net outflow of RMB1.066 billion, China Rare Earth RMB496 million, and Tongling Nonferrous RMB318 million.
