Shanghai Composite Gains 0.67% Led by Agriculture; Main Capital Net Outflow Hits RMB 36.4 Billion

Shanghai's benchmark index rose 0.67% on Aug. 10, with agriculture and food and beverage sectors leading gains of 3.14% and 2.51%, respectively. Main capital saw a net outflow of RMB 36.41 billion across the two bourses, with electronics and telecommunications hit hardest, posting net outflows of RMB 19.21 billion and RMB 16.31 billion. Power equipment led net inflows at RMB 1.73 billion.

On Aug. 10, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.67%. Among Shenwan-classified sectors, 28 advanced during the session. Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery led gains at 3.14%, followed by food and beverage at 2.51%. Telecommunications, electronics and computer sectors led declines, falling 3.16%, 0.49% and 0.26%, respectively. Main capital across the two bourses recorded a net outflow of RMB 36.41 billion for the full session, with 18 sectors seeing net inflows and 13 seeing net outflows.

The power equipment sector posted the largest net inflow of main capital, rising 0.71% on the day with net inflows of RMB 1.73 billion, an overall turnover rate of 3.10%, and trading volume up 5.75% from the previous session. Food and beverage followed closely, gaining 2.51% with net inflows of RMB 1.50 billion. Nonferrous metals, national defense and military industry, and basic chemicals saw net inflows of RMB 1.33 billion, RMB 610 million and RMB 607 million, respectively. The electronics sector led net outflows at RMB 19.21 billion, with an overall turnover rate of 4.21% and volume down 15.60% from the prior session. Telecommunications saw net outflows of RMB 16.31 billion. Computer, non-bank financials and building materials also recorded significant net outflows.

Of the sector's 122 constituent stocks, 116 advanced, 5 hit the daily limit up, and 6 declined. Within the sector, 67 stocks saw net capital inflows, with 7 exceeding RMB 50 million. Kweichow Moutai led with net inflows of RMB 489 million, followed by Lotus Holding and Wuliangye at RMB 362 million and RMB 164 million, respectively. Among stocks with net outflows, 8 exceeded RMB 10 million, with Jinzi Ham, Tsingtao Brewery and Jiugui Liquor posting outflows of RMB 42.20 million, RMB 29.73 million and RMB 21.64 million, respectively.

The agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery sector rose 3.14%, topping the gainers list, with net main capital inflows of RMB 249 million for the session. Of the sector's 104 constituent stocks, 98 advanced, 3 hit the daily limit up, and 6 declined. Within the sector, 54 stocks saw net capital inflows, with 5 exceeding RMB 30 million. Yisheng Livestock & Poultry led with net inflows of RMB 80.64 million, followed by Dabeinong and Zhengbang Technology at RMB 50.84 million and RMB 42.98 million, respectively. Among stocks with net outflows, 8 exceeded RMB 10 million, with Muyuan Foods, Haid Group and Shennong Seed posting outflows of RMB 61.47 million, RMB 34.09 million and RMB 27.07 million, respectively.

The textile and apparel sector rose 2.40% on the day with net main capital inflows of RMB 167 million. Of the sector's 106 constituent stocks, 92 advanced, 4 hit the daily limit up, 12 declined and 2 hit the daily limit down. CHJ Industry led with net inflows of RMB 104 million, followed by Fuchun Dyeing and Weaving and Furuida at RMB 101 million and RMB 72.34 million, respectively. Among stocks with net outflows, 5 exceeded RMB 10 million, with Kingyi Culture, Biem L. FDLKK and Toread posting outflows of RMB 87.18 million, RMB 44.56 million and RMB 35.16 million, respectively.

The telecommunications sector fell 3.16% on the day, leading decliners with net main capital outflows of RMB 16.31 billion. Of the sector's 122 constituent stocks, 54 advanced and 66 declined. Within the sector, 50 stocks saw net capital inflows, with 6 exceeding RMB 50 million. Shijia Photon led with net inflows of RMB 664 million, followed by Star-net Communication and T&S Communications at RMB 159 million and RMB 116 million, respectively. Among stocks with net outflows, 15 exceeded RMB 100 million, with Zhongji Innolight, Eoptolink Technology and Accelink Technologies posting outflows of RMB 7.11 billion, RMB 3.18 billion and RMB 2.20 billion, respectively.

The electronics sector fell 0.49% on the day with net main capital outflows of RMB 19.21 billion. Of the sector's 491 constituent stocks, 228 advanced, 8 hit the daily limit up, 259 declined and 1 hit the daily limit down. Within the sector, 192 stocks saw net capital inflows, with 42 exceeding RMB 100 million. AMEC led with net inflows of RMB 864 million, followed by Longsys Electronics and Trom Industries at RMB 847 million and RMB 436 million, respectively. Among stocks with net outflows, 54 exceeded RMB 100 million, with CXMT, GigaDevice and Dongshan Precision Manufacturing posting outflows of RMB 3.20 billion, RMB 3.10 billion and RMB 2.63 billion, respectively.

The computer sector fell 0.26% on the day with net main capital outflows of RMB 3.99 billion. Of the sector's 334 constituent stocks, 205 advanced, 3 hit the daily limit up and 123 declined. CEC Corecast led with net inflows of RMB 199 million, followed by Shiji Information and Rongji Software at RMB 131 million and RMB 127 million, respectively. Among stocks with net outflows, 10 exceeded RMB 100 million, with Dawning Information, Wangsu Science & Technology and Hithink RoyalFlush posting outflows of RMB 993 million, RMB 324 million and RMB 271 million, respectively.
