Over 5,000 stocks advanced, including 65 hitting the daily limit, while 432 declined. The building materials sector led gains with a 4.81% rise, driven by International Composite Materials up 14.2%. The oil and petrochemical sector fell 1.75%, with Keli Gufen down 12.94%.
By 10:27 AM, the Shanghai Composite rose 0.59%. A-share turnover reached 51.683 billion shares with a value of RMB 1,043.635 billion, up 11.70% from the previous trading day. A total of 5,032 stocks advanced, including 65 hitting the daily limit, while 432 stocks declined.
Among Shenwan industry sectors, building materials posted the largest gain of 4.81%, with turnover of RMB 13.925 billion, up 65.60% from the previous day. The leading stock, International Composite Materials, rose 14.20%. The comprehensive sector gained 4.43% on turnover of RMB 1.585 billion, up 4.73% from the previous day, led by Dongyangguang, which rose 7.17%. The beauty and personal care sector rose 3.65% on turnover of RMB 2.333 billion, up 32.63% from the previous day, led by N Weiqi, which surged 139.17%. Sectors such as textiles and apparel, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, and electrical equipment all rose more than 2%.
On the downside, the oil and petrochemical sector fell 1.75% on turnover of RMB 10.396 billion, down 22.07% from the previous day, led by Keli Gufen, which dropped 12.94%. Coal fell 1.32% on turnover of RMB 4.668 billion, down 12.75% from the previous day, led by China Shenhua, which declined 2.17%. Non-bank financials fell 0.33% on turnover of RMB 17.167 billion, down 12.18% from the previous day, led by Hua'an Securities, which fell 7.88%.
Among other sectors, banking edged down 0.03%, and utilities fell 0.12%.
