Shanghai Index Falls 0.59%; Telecom Sector Leads Declines

On August 24, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.59%, with the telecom sector dropping 4.62% to lead losses. Main capital saw a net outflow of 68.038 billion yuan. Coal and banking sectors rose 2.35% and 1.32%, respectively. The electronics sector declined 3.14%, with a net outflow of 32.313 billion yuan, the largest among sectors. Telecom and pharmaceutical-biotech sectors also saw significant outflows.

On August 24, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.59%. Among Shenwan industries, 10 sectors rose, with coal and banking leading gains, up 2.35% and 1.32%, respectively. Telecom and pharmaceutical-biotech sectors led declines, falling 4.62% and 3.24%, respectively, while the electronics sector dropped 3.14%, ranking third in daily declines.

From a capital perspective, main capital across the two markets saw a net outflow of 68.038 billion yuan for the day. Ten sectors recorded net inflows, with coal leading at 857 million yuan, followed by nonferrous metals at 774 million yuan. Twenty-one sectors saw net outflows, with electronics leading at 32.313 billion yuan, telecom at 13.428 billion yuan, and significant outflows from pharmaceutical-biotech, computer, and machinery equipment sectors.

The electronics sector fell 3.14% with a net outflow of 32.313 billion yuan. Among its 493 constituent stocks, 82 rose and 410 fell. A total of 144 stocks saw net inflows, with nine exceeding 100 million yuan; Jiangfeng Electronics led with 466 million yuan, followed by Dongxin Semiconductor and Youyan Silicon at 303 million and 257 million yuan, respectively. Seventy-two stocks saw net outflows exceeding 100 million yuan, with GigaDevice at 3.206 billion yuan, BOE Technology at 1.654 billion yuan, and Changxin Technology at 1.286 billion yuan.

The pharmaceutical-biotech sector fell 3.24% with a net outflow of 5.794 billion yuan. Among its 478 constituent stocks, 50 rose (six hitting daily limit up), and 425 fell (three hitting daily limit down). A total of 153 stocks saw net inflows, with ten exceeding 50 million yuan; Aoyang Health led with 191 million yuan, followed by KaiKai Industrial and Hayao Group at 172 million and 118 million yuan, respectively. Seventeen stocks saw net outflows exceeding 100 million yuan, with WuXi AppTec at 1.040 billion yuan, Pharmaron at 443 million yuan, and Walvax Biotechnology at 310 million yuan.

The telecom sector fell 4.62% with a net outflow of 13.428 billion yuan. Among its 122 constituent stocks, 28 rose (two hitting daily limit up), and 94 fell (one hitting daily limit down). A total of 35 stocks saw net inflows, with eight exceeding 50 million yuan; Yangtze Optical Fiber led with 341 million yuan, followed by Huilv Ecology and China Mobile at 168 million and 131 million yuan, respectively. Seventeen stocks saw net outflows exceeding 100 million yuan, with Zhongji Innolight at 3.978 billion yuan, Tianfu Communication at 3.090 billion yuan, and Eoptolink at 1.757 billion yuan.
