Azure Revenue Tops $100 Billion; Copilot Seats Hit 30 Million; Shares Up 9% Premarket

In the quarter, the cloud platform Azure surpassed $100 billion in revenue for the first time in fiscal 2026. The AI chatbot Copilot had over 30 million paid seats, with a net addition of 10 million in the quarter. The company also recognized $3.2 billion in gains from AI company Anthropic.

Gross margin was compressed by changes in product mix, but an accounting change that extended the useful life of office and data center assets from 15 to 25 years partially offset the decline.
