Since 2026, 118 A-share Firms Raise RMB402.67 Billion in Private Placements; Electronics, Autos, Machinery
As of August 12, 118 A-share companies had completed private placements since the start of 2026, raising RMB402.67 billion through 135 offerings totalling 47.635 billion shares. Electronics, automobiles, and machinery led in the number of issuers, while coal, nonferrous metals, and electronics topped fundraising amounts. Six companies raised more than RMB10 billion each, with Hongqiao Holdings raising RMB63.518 billion, the largest. Among completed placements, 86 records showed premiums over placement prices, with Kexiang Shares up 442.90%.
Since the beginning of 2026, private placement activity in the A-share market has remained active. As of August 12, based on the listing date of the placements, 118 companies had completed private placements, with 135 placement records in total, issuing 47.635 billion shares and raising a combined RMB402.67 billion.
By board, 40 companies on the Shanghai main board raised RMB141.082 billion; 31 on the Shenzhen main board raised RMB169.525 billion; 27 on the ChiNext raised RMB29.02 billion; and 19 on the STAR Market raised RMB60.765 billion. In terms of industry, the issuing companies spanned 24 Shenwan industries, with electronics, automobiles, and machinery having the highest number of issuers at 19, 13, and 10 respectively. Coal, nonferrous metals, and electronics led in total fundraising amounts, with RMB74.168 billion, RMB69.822 billion, and RMB66.908 billion respectively.
By individual placement size, six companies raised more than RMB10 billion each, seven raised between RMB5 billion and RMB10 billion, 15 raised between RMB2 billion and RMB5 billion, 25 raised between RMB1 billion and RMB2 billion, and 65 raised less than RMB1 billion, of which 36 raised less than RMB500 million. The largest raise was by Hongqiao Holdings, which raised RMB63.518 billion, followed by China Shenhua and Diantou Chanrong, which raised RMB60.08 billion and RMB45.285 billion respectively. SMIC, Air China, and Diantou Energy also ranked among the top fundraisers.
Among completed placements, 86 records showed that the latest closing price was at a premium to the placement price. Kexiang Shares had the highest premium at 442.90%, followed by Honghe Technology and Hongqiao Holdings with premiums of 282.10% and 266.73% respectively. Fosu Technology, Jingfeng Mingyuan, *ST Jinghua, and Puyuan Materials also recorded premiums exceeding 170%.
