Social Security Fund in Top Shareholders of 57 Listed Firms

The National Social Security Fund appeared among the top ten circulating shareholders of 57 listed companies at the end of the second quarter, holding 826 million shares worth RMB 22.542 billion. Shantui Machinery had the highest holding ratio at 6.69%, while Yutong Bus was held for the longest stretch of 33 consecutive quarters. Among 24 continuously held stocks, the fund raised positions in six and cut twelve in the quarter. On earnings, 39 companies posted H1 net profit growth, led by Hengyi Petrochemical's 2500.73% surge.

As of the end of the second quarter, the National Social Security Fund appeared on the top ten circulating shareholder lists of 57 listed companies, with combined holdings of 826 million shares and a total market value of RMB 22.542 billion. Shantui Machinery and Star Net Ruijie each had four social security fund portfolios among their shareholders, with holdings of 87.8934 million and 32.7474 million shares respectively.

By holding ratio, Shantui Machinery ranked highest at 6.69% of circulating shares, followed by Liangxin Electrical, Star Net Ruijie, Jovi Energy and Gettop Acoustic. In terms of share count, 25 stocks had social security fund holdings above 10 million shares, with Shantui leading at 87.8934 million, followed by Dahua Technology at 59.6901 million and Liangxin Electrical at 40.6116 million.

Yutong Bus was the longest-held stock, held for 33 consecutive quarters since the second quarter of 2018, with the National Social Security Fund 101 Portfolio as its seventh-largest circulating shareholder holding 34.84 million shares, or 1.57% of circulating shares. Chengde Lolo, Snibe and Avary Holding were held for 31, 25 and 24 quarters respectively.

Among the 24 continuously held stocks, the fund increased positions in six during the second quarter, with Star Net Ruijie, Espressif Systems and Jangho Group seeing the largest gains of 361.26%, 38.50% and 37.66% respectively. It reduced positions in twelve, with Zhongxin, Shengquan Group and Bairun posting the steepest declines of 54.57%, 46.14% and 44.74%. Six stocks saw no change in holdings.

By industry, basic chemicals, electronics and utilities were the most concentrated among continuously held stocks, with 4, 2 and 2 companies respectively. By board, 18 were on the main board, 3 on ChiNext and 3 on the STAR Market. Across all social security fund holdings, electronics, basic chemicals and machinery led with 11, 9 and 4 stocks respectively.

On earnings, 39 companies held by the fund posted year-on-year net profit growth in the first half. Hengyi Petrochemical recorded the highest growth, with H1 net profit of RMB 5.902 billion, up 2500.73%; Fuchun Communications and Cangzhou Dahua grew 443.75% and 330.75% respectively. Among continuously held stocks, Satellite Chemical, Zangge Mining and Huafon Chemical posted H1 net profits of RMB 6.227 billion, 3.638 billion and 1.983 billion, up 126.94%, 102.09% and 101.64%, while Xinjiang Xintian Natural Gas, Bear Electric and Qixin Group saw net profit decline 37.95%, 14.69% and 12.25% respectively.
