Social Security Fund Holds 57 STAR Market Stocks Worth RMB 18.54 Billion

As of the end of the second quarter, China's Social Security Fund appeared among the top ten circulating shareholders of 487 listed companies, holding 7.805 billion shares worth RMB 171.585 billion in total. Among these, 57 were STAR Market stocks, with a combined market value of RMB 18.544 billion. The fund increased stakes in 9 STAR Market companies, reduced in 18, and newly entered 19. Top holdings included HHC Optoelectronics, Transsion Holdings, and Primed Medical Technology.

As of the end of the second quarter, the Social Security Fund appeared on the top ten circulating shareholder lists of 487 individual stocks, with total holdings of 7.805 billion shares and a combined market value of RMB 171.585 billion. By board distribution, among the stocks held by the fund, 339 were on the main board, 90 on the ChiNext board, and 57 on the STAR Market. By industry, holdings were concentrated in electronics, basic chemicals, and machinery and equipment, with 54, 49, and 44 stocks respectively.

In terms of holding concentration, four stocks—China Jushi, Shantui Construction Machinery, Haid Group, and Star Net Ruijie—each had four social security fund entities appear among their shareholders, with holdings of 103.2329 million shares, 87.8934 million shares, 50.7037 million shares, and 32.7474 million shares, respectively. The highest proportion of circulating shares held was in Yuanfei Pet Products, where the fund held 8.36% of the float, followed by Bai'ao Intelligent with 8.04%. In terms of share count, Focus Media had the largest holding at 297 million shares, followed by Industrial Securities and Baosteel with 191 million and 165 million shares, respectively. Among newly entered stocks, Bohai Leasing had the largest holding at 103.5338 million shares, followed by Zijin Mining and Meihua Biological with 81 million and 37.5884 million shares, respectively.

On the STAR Market, the fund appeared on the top ten circulating shareholder lists of 57 stocks, with total holdings of 295 million shares and a combined market value of RMB 18.544 billion. Changes showed 19 new entries, 9 increases, and 18 reductions. In terms of share count, HHC Optoelectronics-U led with 24.2969 million shares, followed by Transsion Holdings and Primed Medical Technology with 22.3515 million and 21.0317 million shares, respectively. A total of 12 STAR Market stocks had two social security fund entities appear, with the largest holdings being Transsion Holdings, Sanyou Medical, and CRRC Times Electric.

In terms of performance, among the stocks held by the fund, 285 reported year-on-year net profit growth in their half-year reports. The highest growth was in Oke Precision, which achieved net profit of RMB 371 million in the first half, up 47,734.24% year-on-year. Hengyi Petrochemical and Shouhua Gas saw net profit increases of 2,500.73% and 2,131.55%, respectively. Among newly entered stocks, 90 reported net profit growth, with Sunwave Communications and Panjiang Coal up 1,825.74% and 1,344.48%, respectively. Among STAR Market holdings, 28 reported net profit growth in the first half, with Fudan Microelectronics and Joy Information up 338.58% and 291.66%, respectively.

In market performance, the fund's heavy holdings fell an average of 0.75% since July, new entries fell 3.75% on average, and STAR Market holdings fell 13.59% on average. Among specific stocks, Star Net Ruijie rose 73.97% cumulatively since July, leading gains; Jianghe Group and Jiankai Technology rose 65.88% and 65.15%, respectively. Among new entries, Zhongshi Technology rose 47.43%, while Rainbow Group and Ocean King rose 40.33% and 39.59%, respectively. The largest decline was Xi'an Yicai-U, down 48.32% cumulatively.
