Social Security Fund Holds 73 STAR Market Stocks Worth RMB 23.6 Billion

By the end of Q2 2026, China's National Social Security Fund appeared among the top ten circulating shareholders of 594 stocks, holding 10.39 billion shares worth RMB 219.35 billion. On the STAR Market, it held 73 stocks worth RMB 23.63 billion, with 27 new positions, 13 increases, 20 reductions, and 13 unchanged. Top holdings included Guanggang Gas, Nanwei Medical, and Anji Technology. Among all held stocks, 340 reported year-on-year net profit growth, led by Oukei's 47,734.24% surge.

The National Social Security Fund's second-quarter 2026 shareholdings have been disclosed. As of the end of Q2, the fund appeared on the top ten circulating shareholder lists of 594 stocks, holding a total of 10.390 billion shares with a combined market value of RMB 219.353 billion.

In terms of concentration, four stocks—China Jushi, Shantui Construction Machinery, Haid Group, and Star Network—each had four social security fund portfolios among their top ten circulating shareholders, with holdings of 103.2329 million, 87.8934 million, 50.7037 million, and 32.7474 million shares, respectively. By shareholding ratio, the fund's stake in Yuanfei Pet Products was the highest at 8.36% of circulating shares, followed by Bai'ao Intelligent at 8.04%, with Wanze Co. , Ruifeng New Materials, and Guangxin Co. also ranking high. By volume, the fund held 297 million shares of Focus Media, the largest single position, followed by Sany Heavy Industry and China Merchants Shekou with 263 million and 213 million shares, respectively. Fourteen stocks had holdings exceeding 100 million shares.

On the earnings front, 340 of the held companies reported year-on-year net profit growth in their interim reports. Oukei led with net profit of RMB 371 million, up 47,734.24%, followed by Hengyi Petrochemical and Shouhua Gas with increases of 2,500.73% and 2,131.55%, respectively.

By board, 405 held stocks were on the main board, 115 on the ChiNext, and 73 on the STAR Market. By industry, the fund's holdings concentrated in electronics, machinery equipment, and basic chemicals, with 68, 58, and 56 stocks, respectively.

Market performance: Since July, the fund's heavy positions fell an average 1.43%, outperforming the Shanghai Composite Index. Star Network rose 106.83%, the best performer, followed by Chifeng Gold and Jianghe Group, up 77.05% and 67.00%, respectively. Lianchuang Optoelectronics fell 55.28%, the worst.

On the STAR Market, the fund appeared among the top ten circulating shareholders of 73 stocks, holding 360 million shares worth RMB 23.633 billion. Changes included 27 new positions, 13 increases, 20 reductions, and 13 unchanged. Among new positions, Huicheng Co. , SUPCON Technology, and Oukei led by volume.

Guanggang Gas was held by three fund portfolios, the most on the STAR Market, with 30.4283 million shares, or 4.40% of circulating shares. By ratio, Nanwei Medical had the highest at 5.23%, followed by Sanyou Medical at 5.21%, with Prometheus, Tonglian Precision, and Guanggang Gas also ranking high. By volume, Guanggang Gas led with 30.4283 million shares, followed by Hehui Optoelectronics-U and Transsion Holdings with 24.2969 million and 22.3515 million shares, respectively. By market value, Anji Technology, Guanggang Gas, and SUPCON Technology had holdings worth RMB 1.874 billion, RMB 1.585 billion, and RMB 1.431 billion, respectively.

Among STAR Market holdings, 36 reported year-on-year net profit growth in H1. Oukei led with a 47,734.24% increase, followed by Fudan Microelectronics and Joyi Information, up 338.58% and 291.66%, respectively. By industry, holdings concentrated in electronics, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, and machinery equipment, with 23, 13, and 13 stocks, respectively. Since July, these STAR Market stocks fell an average 17.93%, with XGIMI up 31.22%, the best, followed by Yahuilong and MGI Tech, up 15.64% and 15.17%. Xi'an Yicai-U fell 53.50%, the worst performer.
