Southbound Capital Holds 19.61% of Stock Connect Targets Worth HK$5.96 Trillion

As of August 14, 2026, southbound capital held 504.083 billion shares in Stock Connect targets, representing 19.61% of total share capital, with a market value of HK$5,964.306 billion, or 14.38% of the targets' total market value. Southbound funds held more than 20% in 269 stocks. The highest concentrations were in Dynagreen Environmental Protection (72.97%), Dazhong Public Utilities (71.29%) and China Telecom (70.16%). AH-share companies accounted for 56.88% of stocks with holdings above 20%, led by healthcare, industrial and financial sectors.

As of August 14, 2026, southbound capital held a total of 504.083 billion shares in Stock Connect targets, representing 19.61% of the total share capital of the target stocks, with a market value of HK$5,964.306 billion, equivalent to 14.38% of the targets' total market value. Among these, 269 stocks had a holding ratio exceeding 20%.

Among Stock Connect targets, 150 stocks had southbound holdings between 10% and 20%, 107 stocks between 5% and 10%, 88 stocks between 1% and 5%, and 31 stocks below 1%. The three stocks with the highest holding ratios were Dynagreen Environmental Protection, Dazhong Public Utilities and China Telecom, at 72.97%, 71.29% and 70.16%, respectively.

Stocks with high southbound holdings were mostly AH-concept shares. Among the 269 stocks with holdings above 20%, 153 were AH shares, accounting for 56.88%; in the 10%-20% range, AH shares comprised 20%. By HKEX industry classification, stocks with holdings above 20% were concentrated in the healthcare, industrial and financial sectors, with 56, 47 and 34 stocks, respectively.
