Southbound Capital Holds 504.7B Shares of Stock Connect Targets Worth HK$6.05 trillion; 271 Over 20%
As of August 24, southbound capital held 504.706 billion shares of Stock Connect targets, representing 19.63% of total share capital and a market value of HK$6,051.475 billion, or 14.42% of total market capitalization. Among 271 stocks with holdings above 20%, the highest ratio was 73.02% in Lvse Dongli Huanbao, followed by Dazhong Gongyong at 71.95% and Longpan Keji at 71.39%. A+H stocks dominated the high-holding group, accounting for 56.46% of those above 20%.

Southbound capital held a total of 504.706 billion shares of these targets, representing 19.63% of their total share capital, with a combined market value of HK$6,051.475 billion, or 14.42% of the targets' total market capitalization. By individual stock, 271 targets had southbound capital holdings exceeding 20% of total share capital, 151 had holdings between 10% and 20%, 110 between 5% and 10%, 83 between 1% and 5%, and 31 below 1%. The highest holding ratio was in Lvse Dongli Huanbao, with 295 million shares representing 73.02% of its issued H-shares. It was followed by Dazhong Gongyong and Longpan Keji, with ratios of 71.95% and 71.39%, respectively. In terms of characteristics, most stocks with high southbound holdings are A+H concept stocks. Statistics show that among stocks with southbound holdings exceeding 20%, there were 153 A+H stocks, accounting for 56.46%; among those with holdings between 10% and 20%, A+H stocks accounted for 20.53%. By HKEX industry classification, stocks with southbound holdings exceeding 20% were mainly concentrated in healthcare, industrials, and financials, with 56, 47, and 35 stocks, respectively.
