Southbound Holdings in HK Connect Stocks Reach 607.04 Billion HKD

As of September 2, southbound capital held 505.287 billion shares of Hong Kong Connect target stocks, accounting for 19.65% of their total share capital, with a market value of 607.04 billion HKD, representing 14.51% of the total market value. 268 stocks had southbound holdings exceeding 20% of their issued shares, led by Green Power Environmental with 72.66%.

As of September 2, southbound capital held a total of 505.287 billion shares in Hong Kong Connect target stocks, accounting for 19.65% of their total share capital, with a combined market value of 607.04 billion HKD, representing 14.51% of the total market value of these targets.

By individual stock, 268 targets had southbound holdings exceeding 20% of their total share capital, 152 had holdings between 10% and 20%, 109 between 5% and 10%, 86 between 1% and 5%, and 29 below 1%. The highest proportion was in Green Power Environmental, with southbound capital holding 294 million shares, or 72.66% of its issued Hong Kong shares, followed by China Telecom and Dazhong Public at 71.59% and 70.90%, respectively.

Among stocks with southbound holdings above 20%, 155 were A+H shares, accounting for 57.84%; among those with holdings between 10% and 20%, A+H shares accounted for 19.08%.

By HKEX industry classification, stocks with southbound holdings exceeding 20% were concentrated in healthcare, industrials, and financials, with 53, 49, and 35 stocks, respectively.
