Southbound Holdings in Stock Connect Targets Reach 612.15 Billion HKD
As of August 28, southbound capital held 503.826 billion shares of Stock Connect targets, representing 19.59% of their total share capital and a market value of HKD 612.1533 billion, or 14.43% of their combined market capitalization. Among individual targets, 271 had southbound holdings above 20%, with the highest stake in Green Power Environmental at 73.06%.
As of August 28, southbound capital held a total of 503.826 billion shares in Stock Connect targets, accounting for 19.59% of the total share capital of these targets, with a combined market value of HKD 612.1533 billion, representing 14.43% of the total market capitalization of the targets.
By individual target, 271 stocks had southbound holdings exceeding 20%, 150 stocks had holdings between 10% and 20%, 110 stocks had holdings between 5% and 10%, 86 stocks had holdings between 1% and 5%, and 28 stocks had holdings below 1%. The highest holding ratio was in Green Power Environmental, with southbound capital holding 295 million shares, or 73.06% of its issued shares. It was followed by Dazhong Public Utilities and China Telecom, with holding ratios of 71.49% and 71.00%, respectively. China Shenhua, Lopal Tech, Triumph New Energy, and Tianjin Capital Environmental Protection also saw southbound holdings exceeding 68%.
Stocks with high southbound holdings were predominantly AH concept shares. Among those with holdings above 20%, 154 were AH shares, accounting for 56.83%. Among those with holdings between 10% and 20%, AH shares accounted for 20.00%.
