Southbound Holdings Reach 505.37 Billion Shares Worth HK$616.25 Billion; 270 Stocks Exceed 20% Stake

As of August 21, southbound investors held 505.37 billion shares of Stock Connect targets, representing 19.66% of total share capital and a market value of HK$616.25 billion, or 14.41% of the targets' total market value. Among individual stocks, 270 had southbound holdings exceeding 20% of issued shares, with the highest stake at 73.02% in Dynagreen Environmental Protection Group. AH-share companies accounted for 57.41% of these high-holding stocks.

As of August 21, southbound investors collectively held 505.37 billion shares of Stock Connect targets, representing 19.66% of the total share capital of these targets, with a combined market value of HK$616.25 billion, accounting for 14.41% of the total market value of the targets.

Looking at individual targets, 270 stocks had southbound holdings exceeding 20% of total issued shares, 149 stocks had holdings between 10% and 20%, 109 stocks had holdings between 5% and 10%, 87 stocks had holdings between 1% and 5%, and 28 stocks had holdings below 1%. The highest southbound holding ratio was in Dynagreen Environmental Protection Group, with 295 million shares held, representing 73.02% of its issued H-shares. It was followed by Dazhong Public Utilities and Lopal Tech, with holding ratios of 71.98% and 70.84%, respectively.

Statistics show that among stocks with southbound holdings exceeding 20%, 155 were AH-share companies, accounting for 57.41%. Among stocks with holdings between 10% and 20%, AH-share companies accounted for 19.46%. By HKEX industry classification, stocks with southbound holdings exceeding 20% were mainly concentrated in healthcare, industrials, and financials, with 56, 47, and 35 stocks, respectively.
