SpaceX's market capitalization has evaporated by more than $1.2 trillion from its June 2026 high of $225.64, nearing the market cap of Tesla. On Monday, SpaceX fell over 1% to close at $113.50, marking the 13th decline in the past 16 trading sessions.
In options trading on Monday, 106,000 call options and 77,000 put options changed hands, but the majority of the $442 million in total premium came from puts. The most actively traded contract was the call option with a strike price of $330 expiring Friday, at a premium of $0.10. Data from ThinkOrSwim showed the contract had approximately a 0.33% probability of being profitable. By premium, the four largest trades were neutral or bullish, including two large bear put spread sellers: one multi-million dollar spread trade that requires SpaceX's stock to rise, and another that sold 5,200 contracts of the October 16 put option with a $100 strike for $1.8 million while buying 7,000 contracts of the same-expiry put with an $85 strike. SpaceX's first post-IPO earnings report will be released next week. After the earnings release, investors can sell 20% of their locked-up shares on the second full trading day, which is August 6, totaling up to 911.5 million shares.
