Spot gold climbed above $4,300 an ounce on August 6, the first time since June 18, 2026, lifting domestic gold jewelry prices at leading Chinese retailers. Lao Feng Xiang quoted RMB 1,293 per gram, up RMB 56 on the day; Lao Miao Gold quoted RMB 1,299 per gram, up RMB 63; and Chow Sang Sang quoted RMB 1,295 per gram, up RMB 58. The sharp single-day increases reflect elevated bullion prices feeding through to consumer gold products.
