Tianyu Advanced Shares Rise Over 6% as 20+ Power Semiconductor Firms Hike Prices
Tianyu Advanced (02631. HK) shares rose over 6% on August 6, trading up 5.59% at HK$68 with turnover of HK$98.57 million. Since July, more than 20 global power semiconductor firms have launched a second round of price increases of 10% to 25% across SiC, GaN, and silicon-based MOSFET/IGBT products. The industry faces structural divergence: high-yield 8-inch SiC wafers are in tight supply and automotive SiC MOSFETs have long lead times, while 6-inch SiC is oversupplied. In Q1 2026, Tianyu's gross margin recovered to near 20% with 8-inch revenue share at about 45%; in Q2, it sought price hikes for new and rush orders.
On August 6, shares of Tianyu Advanced (02631. HK) rose more than 6%, trading up 5.59% at HK$68 at the time of writing, with turnover of HK$98.5712 million. Since July, more than 20 power semiconductor companies worldwide have launched a second round of price increases for the year, ranging from 10% to 25%, covering the full range of silicon-based MOSFET/IGBT, SiC, and GaN products. The core issue facing the industry is structural divergence: high-yield 8-inch SiC wafers are in tight supply, and automotive-grade SiC MOSFETs have long lead times, while ordinary 6-inch SiC has become oversupplied, with price wars accelerating the decline in SiC prices.
In the first quarter of 2026, as 8-inch products ramped up rapidly, Tianyu Advanced's gross margin recovered to close to 20%, and the revenue share of 8-inch products rose to about 45%, a marked improvement in profitability compared with 2025.
