US Stocks Close Lower as Optical and Memory Shares Tumble

All three major US stock indexes closed slightly lower. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.56%, the S&P 500 declined 0.48% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.29%.

Optical communications and memory stocks fell sharply. The Roundhill memory ETF dropped more than 7%. Corning fell more than 13%, Coherent more than 12%, Lumentum about 10% and Ciena more than 8%. SK Hynix and Marvell Technology each declined more than 7%.
