Yen Opens at 159 per Dollar in Tokyo, Up 0.05 Yen

On the morning of the 13th, the yen opened at 159 yen per dollar in the Tokyo foreign exchange market. At 9 a. m. , the yen was quoted at 159.32-34 yen per dollar, up 0.05 yen from the previous day. The euro rose 0.23 yen to 183.64-68 yen per euro. The U. S. consumer price index (CPI) for July, released on the 12th, showed a year-on-year increase that narrowed compared with the same period in 2024.
