Fujian's Foreign Trade Hits Record 995.89 Billion RMB in First Half of 2026, Imports Rise 18.5%

Fujian province's foreign trade reached a record 995.89 billion RMB in the first half of 2026, up 8.2% year-on-year. Exports totaled 574.01 billion RMB, up 1.7%, while imports surged 18.5% to 421.88 billion RMB, both setting new highs for the period. Mechanical and electrical products drove growth, with exports rising 5.6% and imports up 28.9%. The province's shipbuilding sector is advancing green and intelligent upgrades, supported by new policy measures to stabilize and improve foreign trade.

In the first half of 2026, Fujian province's foreign trade reached 995.89 billion RMB, up 8.2% year-on-year. Exports totaled 574.01 billion RMB, up 1.7%, while imports surged 18.5% to 421.88 billion RMB. Both the total trade and import figures set new historical highs for the period.

On the export side, mechanical and electrical product exports reached 273.89 billion RMB, up 5.6%, accounting for 47.7% of total exports and contributing 2.6 percentage points to overall export growth. On the import side, mechanical and electrical product imports stood at 74.57 billion RMB, up 28.9%.

Shipbuilding is a traditional equipment manufacturing industry in Fujian.
