China is accelerating major infrastructure construction under the ‘two priorities’ and ‘six networks’ plan, with 2026 investment estimated to exceed 7 trillion yuan. The Three Gorges New Waterway started construction in June, marking a landmark project. In the first half, internet services investment rose 39.9%, water transport 19.8%, power supply 19.4%, and air transport 11%, while private capital in water network projects surged 85.8%. China has made China Compulsory Certification (CCC) mandatory for electric-vehicle charging equipment from Aug 1, banning uncertified products from leaving factories, being sold, imported or used in operations. The regime covers AC and DC chargers, including home and public units. Most leading manufacturers have obtained certification, while some smaller firms are seeking contract manufacturing or maintenance work. By end-June 2026, charging infrastructure reached 23.057 million units, up 43.2% year on year; a 2025 SAMR sampling showed a 49.1% failure rate.
Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. , Ltd. (CATL) has established a wholly-owned sales subsidiary, CATL (Ningde) Sales Co. , with registered capital of RMB 3 billion. The new entity's business scope covers battery sales, battery component sales, new energy prime mover equipment, charging piles, and new energy vehicle battery swap facilities. Business registration records confirm CATL holds full ownership of the subsidiary.
