China's National Development and Reform Commission reported that in the first half of 2026, goods trade with Belt and Road partner countries reached RMB 12.97 trillion, up 14.8% year on year, accounting for 50.9% of total foreign trade. Investment cooperation expanded into high-tech and green sectors. Infrastructure projects advanced, including the Hungary-Serbia Railway's freight service launch, full construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway, and 11,186 China-Europe freight train trips, a 20.2% increase.
China Railway Industry reported total new contract value of RMB 202.83 billion for the first half of 2026, down 5.26% year-on-year. Domestic contracts fell 13.76% to RMB 168.35 billion, while overseas contracts surged 82.44% to RMB 34.48 billion. Specialized engineering machinery and related services rose 8.74% to RMB 67.73 billion, but transportation equipment and services dropped 16.34% to RMB 115.33 billion. Major contracts signed in the second quarter totaled RMB 7.47 billion.
In a filing, CRCC Heavy Industry announced that its cumulative new contracts and bids for the first half of the year totaled 77.53 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 0.34%.
