Leapmotor has set up Huzhou Lingsheng Precision Manufacturing Co. , Ltd. with a registered capital of RMB 210 million, covering auto parts, industrial robots, and intelligent robot R&D. The new entity is wholly owned by Leapmotor's subsidiary Zhejiang Lingsheng Power Technology Co. The company did not comment on the move. Leapmotor has been exploring robotics since early 2025, and its chairman recently noted the company's market cap is only 0.5% of Tesla's, despite selling 43% of Tesla's volume. The move reflects broader automotive industry interest in robotics as a growth avenue, though commercialization remains uncertain.
