Chinese Auto Sales Rise in July as Monthly Exports Top 1 Million for First Time
Several Chinese automakers reported year-on-year sales growth in July, with exports becoming the core driver. BYD sold 419,200 vehicles, up 21.75% year on year, and exported 180,500 new-energy vehicles, up 123.6%, with exports accounting for 43.1% of total sales. Geely, Chery, and Great Wall also posted strong export gains. Industry-wide June exports rose 75.1% to 1.037 million units, the first monthly figure above one million, while half-year exports climbed 65.3% to 5.096 million units.
