MIIT Reports on 17 Key Automakers' Payment Periods, Says Few Still Delay, to Issue Guidelines
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reported on July 27 that it is pushing 17 key automakers to shorten supplier payment cycles. It noted that a few companies still engage in delayed payment start times and non-standard management, effectively extending payment periods. MIIT has appointed 20 media reporters as industry supervisors and will accelerate the release of payment guidelines, strengthen oversight, and enforce regulations to protect supply chain firms, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
