Agricultural Bank Expands Deceased Customers' Asset Query, Plans One-Click Extraction Within RMB 50,000
The Agricultural Bank of China has expanded its one-stop after-death services for relatives of deceased customers, widening query coverage from deposits to 35 asset types across three categories including wealth management and treasury bonds. Sixteen branches partnered with China UnionPay; 15 branches joined cross-bank programs. The service has benefited 850,000 people, with counter time cut to three minutes. A one-click extraction feature for eligible customers will cover assets up to RMB 50,000.
The Agricultural Bank of China continues to optimize its "one-stop services for personal after-death matters" initiative. Under the guidance of financial regulators, the bank has advanced query and extraction services for deceased customers' financial assets through bank-government collaboration and technological innovation. Since the State Council deployed its "efficiently completing one matter" work program, the bank has coordinated multiple departments to resolve data transmission and system integration bottlenecks, expanding the query scope from deposits to 35 types of financial assets across three categories, including wealth management products and treasury bonds. Relatives need only submit a single application to view all relevant information. As of the reporting date, the bank's Qingdao branch has served more than 600 families under this service.
Across regional operations, the bank has convened system-wide work promotion meetings to share best practices. Sixteen branches, including those in Beijing and Shanxi, have partnered with China UnionPay, with branch staff assisting in verifying clients' query eligibility and the Yunshanfu app enabling queries on the bank card account opening status of deceased customers at banks nationwide. Fifteen branches, including those in Zhejiang and Qinghai, participate in cross-bank query and extraction programs for deceased customers led by local civil affairs and financial regulatory authorities. Branches in Zhejiang and Qinghai provide online queries through government service platforms, while other branches are advancing in line with government implementation schedules.
On service channel development, the bank continues to enrich its convenience service matrix. The 95599 hotline provides business consultation and guidance, while branches offer a "one-click query" function that consolidates item-by-item asset searches into a single presentation of all financial asset categories, cutting counter processing time to three minutes. The mobile banking "wealth inheritance query" pre-review function allows heirs to submit materials online, after which they can complete subsequent procedures at any branch. To date, the service has benefited 850,000 people.
Going forward, the bank will launch a "one-click extraction" function, offering eligible customers one-click extraction of various financial assets up to RMB 50,000 (or equivalent in foreign currency). Fixed deposits may be transferred to heirs' names as needed, avoiding interest losses incurred through early withdrawal.
