Only hours after Apple's autumn product launch ended, Apple raised prices on older iPhone models still on sale. The event introduced the first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, and the iPhone 18 Pro series, with global pricing for the new devices announced. The adjustment was Apple's largest increase of 2026 across global markets.

The iPhone 18 Pro rose in the United States from USD 1,099 for the previous generation to USD 1,199, an increase of about 9%. In India, its price rose from INR 134,900 to INR 164,900, an increase of more than 22%. The iPhone 18 Pro Max rose in the United States from USD 1,199 to USD 1,299, an increase of 8%, and in India from INR 149,900 to INR 179,900, an increase of 20%. At INR 95 to the US dollar, the iPhone 18 Pro's US price is equivalent to about INR 113,905, against an actual Indian price of INR 164,900, a premium of 45%; the iPhone 18 Pro Max carries a premium of 46%. The 256GB version of the foldable iPhone Duo starts at USD 1,999 in the United States, equivalent to INR 189,905, against an Indian price of INR 299,900, a premium of 57%.

India is both one of Apple's fastest-growing overseas markets and a core production base. A substantial share of global iPhones is currently assembled in India, and capacity at Foxconn and Tata production lines continues to expand. India's smartphone industry carries no additional import tariff, and localised production continues to advance. Local manufacturing has not brought price concessions: Indian market pricing is substantially higher than in the United States.
