Apple to Announce iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and Foldable Ultra Launch This Week
Apple will announce the launch date for its new products this week, introducing three models: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra. The Ultra features a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner display, powered by a 2nm A20 Pro chip with 12GB RAM and a 48-megapixel dual camera. It drops Face ID for side fingerprint recognition and runs iOS 27. The Pro models retain 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens with LTPO+ technology and a variable-aperture 48-megapixel triple camera. A new cherry red color debuts for 2026.
The launch event will introduce three models: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra. The iPhone Ultra is Apple's first large foldable product. It features a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner display, with an unfolded screen ratio close to 4:3. The device's single-side thickness is approximately 4.5mm, and approximately 9.2mm when folded.
The iPhone Ultra is powered by the 2nm A20 Pro chip, with 12GB of RAM as standard. It has a 48-megapixel dual rear camera system without a telephoto lens. This is the first high-end iPhone in recent years to drop Face ID, adopting side fingerprint recognition instead. It ships with iOS 27 and supports split-screen functionality.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max maintain 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screen sizes, introducing a new generation of LTPO+ display technology. They are also equipped with the same 2nm A20 Pro chip from TSMC. The main camera introduces variable aperture technology for the first time, with a 48-megapixel triple camera system.
In terms of colors, the iPhone 18 Pro series adds a cherry red color, replacing the previous star orange as the main color for 2026. This color presents a matte texture in low light.
