BYD Delivers 160 Electric Buses to Azerbaijan, Local Plant Assembles 300 for Baku's 2030 Goal
Chinese automaker BYD has delivered 160 electric buses to Baku and established a local assembly plant that has produced 300 more, supporting the city's goal of fully electrifying its bus fleet by 2030. The factory in Sumgayit, co-founded by BYD and an Azerbaijani partner, began assembly in September 2025. Azerbaijan plans to have 1,100 electric buses in operation nationwide by 2026.
