Estée Lauder is a New York-based beauty company with roughly 80 years of history that has grown from its namesake brand into a global enterprise. The company owns more than 20 brands, including Clinique, Jo Malone, MAC, Bobbi Brown and La Mer. It is the only large United States company focused entirely on the prestige beauty market, with a portfolio spanning four categories: skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair care. Its business covers the global prestige beauty market.

Stéphane de La Faverie took over as Estée Lauder's chief executive in 2025. He joined the company in 2011, previously led the namesake brand and oversaw a broader brand portfolio that included The Ordinary and Le Labo. His strategy, called Beauty Reimagined, aims to make the company faster and more attuned to where and how consumers shop. The company is accelerating innovation, expanding into new channels such as Amazon, TikTok Shop and Sephora, increasing investment in its brands and cutting costs.

Company sales grew for a fourth consecutive quarter. Travel retail improved, online sales achieved double-digit growth, and both gross margin and operating margin improved.

Estée Lauder's share price is down about 74% from its January 2022 high. The stock has continued to fall in 2026. On a price-to-sales basis, Estée Lauder trades below L'Oréal, its largest global peer.
