Recently, an Ideal Auto owner described the bizarre experience of his vehicle being "stolen," drawing public attention. The owner, Mr. Luo, said his Ideal L9 went missing in Hangzhou in the early hours of July 22, 2025. After reporting to the police and reviewing surveillance footage, he discovered that the vehicle had been towed away by a tow truck. When the police summoned the towing company for questioning, the company provided documents that Mr. Luo said he was unaware of, leading the police to believe there was a potential economic dispute involving the vehicle. On August 29, 2025, Mr. Luo received a notice from the police declining to file a case.
During this period, the vehicle was transported to Haiyan County in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, and then to Qianshan City in Anqing City, Anhui Province. On August 19, 2025, three individuals drove the vehicle to Horgos in Xinjiang, and the next day it crossed the border into Kazakhstan.
