JR Central, West, Kyushu to Link Shinkansen Booking Services from Oct 20

JR Central, JR West and JR Kyushu announced on August 6 that they will link their online Shinkansen reservation services, EX Service and JR West's e5489, from October 20. Users who register IDs and complete the linking process can access either service with a single login. The integration will add a function that consolidates Shinkansen and limited express reservations. From September 15, users can check the operating status of Shinkansen trains booked through EX Service on the day of travel via the app. Usage vouchers issued at automatic ticket gates will be abolished in February 2027.

JR Central, JR West and JR Kyushu announced on August 6 that they will link the online Shinkansen reservation service EX Service with JR West's e5489 from October 20. After users obtain IDs and complete the linking process in each service, they will be able to use either service by logging into just one, without needing to log into each separately. The integration will also add a function that displays Shinkansen and limited express reservation information in a consolidated view.

From September 15, users will be able to confirm the operating status of Shinkansen trains reserved through EX Service on the day of travel via the application. Usage vouchers issued at automatic ticket gates will be abolished in February 2027. The four companies, including JR East, announced plans to link their respective services in September 2025.
