Leapmotor recalls 371,200 C01 and C11 cars over poorly visible emergency handles
Leapmotor has filed a recall plan with China's market regulator, covering 48,625 C01 cars produced between August 2022 and November 2025, and 322,575 C11 cars produced between September 2021 and April 2026, totaling 371,200 vehicles. The emergency mechanical handles are hard to identify due to similar interior colors. The company will affix warning labels and upgrade window-control software via OTA to reduce risks.
Leapmotor Co. , Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. Effective immediately, the recall covers 48,625 units of the C01 model produced between August 7, 2022 and November 29, 2025, and 322,575 units of the C11 model produced between September 20, 2021 and April 21, 2026. In the affected vehicles, the interior emergency mechanical handles are difficult to identify and operate because their color closely matches the interior trim. Leapmotor will affix warning labels at the location of the emergency mechanical handles free of charge, and will upgrade the window-control software through over-the-air (OTA) technology to add a post-accident window lowering strategy, thereby reducing safety risks.
