In January 2026, a model named "Model 3 Standard Range Plus" entered the catalog of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. According to the ministry's website, the "New Energy Vehicle Models Exempt from Vehicle Purchase Tax (Batch 26)" published on December 31, 2025, included six Tesla China models, among them this vehicle. The catalog information shows that this model is equipped with a 52.9 kWh battery and has a CLTC range of 480 kilometers.
Currently, the rear-wheel-drive Model 3 sold in China has a CLTC range of 634 kilometers, indicating that the new model offers reduced range.
