Tesla Model YL Owner's Manual Height and Clearance Figures Cut by 3-4 mm

The overall height and ground clearance figures in the Tesla Model YL owner's manual have been revised, with reductions of 3 to 4 millimetres across the affected specifications. A comparison of the two versions shows that the April 2026 edition listed an overall vehicle height of 1,668 millimetres, a laden ground clearance of 122 millimetres and an unladen ground clearance of 169 millimetres. In the latest version, overall height is reduced to 1,664 millimetres, laden ground clearance to 118 millimetres and unladen ground clearance to 166 millimetres.

Previously, multiple Tesla owners reported that their Model YL vehicles, delivered less than a year earlier, developed rear-wheel collapse during long-distance driving and in other scenarios, with the gap between the rear wheel arch and the tyre visibly narrowing. Some owners also reported that the collapse recurred shortly after springs were replaced during after-sales service. Tesla has not yet formally responded publicly to the rear-wheel collapse issue, and the company has made no response regarding the revised vehicle specifications. Tesla customer service said it has not received any related notice and has no information to share.
