Xiaomi Auto Launches Pengcheng Series Range-Extender SUVs, Expanding Product Line
On July 30, Xiaomi Auto unveiled the Pengcheng series of two range-extender SUVs, the N90 Max seven-seat and N70 Max five-seat all-wheel-drive models, based on the Kunlun technology architecture. On the evening of July 30, Xiaomi Auto released the new Pengcheng series of two range-extender SUVs—the large seven-seat flagship range-extender SUV, the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max, and the large five-seat four-wheel-drive range-extender SUV, the Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 Max. The Pengcheng series is the second technical architecture from Xiaomi Auto after its pure electric platform, built on the Kunlun technology architecture that took three and a half years to develop. It comprises three core technologies: the Kunlun platform, Kunlun super range-extender, and Kunlun full-domain safety.
The Pengcheng series is positioned as intelligent, variable large-space SUVs, featuring a pure flat floor and long slide rails, supporting 18 scene modes including facing seats, office, rest, and bed modes. All variable scenes, center console, and doors support electric adjustment and voice control. The N90 Max adopts a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout with a cabin usable area of 4.4 square meters. The entire series supports 92, 95, and 98 octane gasoline, and the range extender and three-electric system come with a warranty of 8 years or 160,000 kilometers.
In terms of range, the Pengcheng series offers a CLTC pure electric range of up to 505 km. The N90 Max has a CLTC combined range of 1,705 km, with fuel consumption of 6.26 liters per 100 km when battery is depleted. The N70 series has a minimum fuel consumption of 5.7 liters per 100 km when battery is depleted. For the battery, Xiaomi has introduced the Long Armor battery system, offering 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate and 76 kWh ternary lithium battery packs dedicated to range-extender models. On the intelligent configuration side, the Pengcheng series is equipped with the Xiaomi HAD assisted driving system, XLA cognitive model, Nvidia Thor on-board computing platform, dual LiDAR, and 4D millimeter-wave radar. The N90 Max also features a rear solid-state LiDAR for the first time.
Starting from July 30, physical vehicles of the Pengcheng series have been arriving at stores, covering 499 stores in 146 cities across the country. Since announcing its entry into car manufacturing in 2021, Xiaomi Auto has launched two pure electric models, the SU7 and YU7, with cumulative deliveries exceeding 700,000 units. In the first half of 2026, Xiaomi Auto delivered 169,000 vehicles, with a full-year sales target of 550,000 units. Affected by factors such as production line adjustments, first-half deliveries fell 20% year-on-year, and February and March saw the first monthly year-on-year declines.
