Cadence AI Tools Certified for Intel 18A-P and 14A Nodes, Joint Advanced Packaging Flow Verified

Cadence announced that its AI-driven digital and custom design tools and reference flows have been certified for Intel Foundry's 18A-P and 14A process nodes. The certification covers RibbonFET gate-all-around transistors and second-generation backside power delivery technologies. The companies also jointly developed an advanced packaging reference flow based on Intel's embedded multi-die interconnect bridge, supporting multi-chip architectures with early thermal, signal-integrity and power-integrity analysis. Silicon verification of interface and memory IP cores was completed on the Intel 18A node.

Intel Foundry and Cadence announced a milestone in their collaboration. The full suite of Cadence's AI-driven digital and custom reference flows, design tools and solutions has been certified for the Intel 18A-P and Intel 14A process nodes. The certification is based on Intel Foundry's latest process design kit, integrating RibbonFET gate-all-around transistor architecture and second-generation backside power delivery technologies including PowerVia and PowerDirect. Chip design customers in key areas such as smartphones, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing can now directly use Cadence's AI-driven EDA toolchain to optimize power, performance and area.

Both companies also jointly developed an advanced packaging reference design flow for Intel's embedded multi-die interconnect bridge technology. The flow supports parallel design of multi-chip architectures and provides early analysis of thermal effects, signal integrity and power integrity. Cadence and Intel Foundry have completed silicon verification testing of interface and memory IP cores on the Intel 18A process. The Intel 14A node adopts RibbonFET 2 and PowerDirect technologies, targeting applications such as cloud AI accelerators, edge computing and high-end mobile devices.
