CPCA: July 2026 Passenger Vehicle Retail Sales Down 18% YoY, NEV Sales Slip 2%
The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released preliminary statistics for the period July 1–31. National passenger vehicle retail sales reached 1.506 million units, down 18% year-on-year and 6% month-on-month. Cumulative retail sales since the beginning of 2026 totaled 10.207 million units, a decline of 20% year-on-year.
In the new energy vehicle segment, July retail sales stood at 970,000 units, down 2% year-on-year and 4% month-on-month. For the year to date, new energy retail sales reached 5.675 million units, down 12% compared with the same period in 2025.
