Google Unveils Pixel 11 Series with Tensor G6 Chip, Raises Prices by $100

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Google will launch the Pixel 11 series on August 12, featuring the self-developed Tensor G6 chip built on TSMC's first-generation 2nm N2 process using GAA transistor technology. Compared to N3E, the N2 process delivers 10% to 15% higher performance at the same power or 25% to 30% lower power at the same performance. TSMC's 2nm wafers cost nearly $30,000 each, up 50% to 66% from 3nm. Rising chip and memory costs are pressuring pricing. Google will raise prices across the Pixel lineup: the Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold increase by $100, while the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro drop the 128GB storage variant, lifting their base price by $100.

Google will officially launch the Pixel 11 series on August 12. The series debuts the self-developed Tensor G6 chip, built on TSMC's first-generation 2nm N2 process. N2 is TSMC's first process node to use GAA transistor technology. Compared to the N3E process, N2 delivers 10% to 15% higher performance at the same power consumption, or 25% to 30% lower power consumption at the same performance. TSMC's 2nm wafers are now quoted at nearly $30,000 each, an increase of about 50% to 66% over the 3nm process. TSMC has confirmed it will raise wafer foundry prices in early 2027, with advanced processes such as 2nm included in the adjustment range. Rising chip costs and persistently climbing memory prices are putting pressure on terminal pricing. Shakil Barkat, Google's vice president of devices and services, said Google faces unprecedented cost pressure and that memory prices have never risen so sharply.

The entire Pixel series will undergo price adjustments, including the upcoming Pixel 11 series and existing models such as the Pixel 10a. Google will still offer promotions and trade-in discounts. The Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold will see price increases of $100. The Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro will eliminate the 128GB storage variant, and their base price will rise by $100 accordingly.
