July China Auto Sales 2.584 Million, NEV Penetration Rate Tops 60% for First Time

China's auto sales in July totaled 2.584 million units, roughly flat year on year. Domestic sales fell 23.6% year on year, while overseas sales grew 81.3%, with the overseas expansion offsetting the decline in domestic demand.

In the same period, new energy vehicle (NEV) sales reached 1.561 million units, accounting for 60.4% of total vehicle sales, marking the first time monthly penetration exceeded 60%. Domestic NEV sales stood at 1.008 million units, down 2.8% year on year, yet their share of domestic vehicle sales rose to 65.4%.
