China International Fair for Trade in Services Opens in Beijing With 90 Countries and 1,800 Firms
The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services ran in Beijing from September 9 to 13, drawing exhibitors and conference participants from 90 countries, regions and international organizations, with more than 1,800 companies exhibiting on site. Norway was the guest country of honour. China's services imports and exports reached RMB 3.8 trillion in the first half of 2026, up 8.3% year on year, with services exports rising 17.6%.
The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services was held in Beijing from September 9 to 13, 2026. Ninety countries, regions and international organizations mounted exhibitions or staged events, and more than 1,800 companies exhibited on site. International participation in this edition was higher than at the previous one. The Norway national pavilion, the guest country of honour, was located in Hall 1 of Shougang Park, with thematic sections arranged in sequence covering marine health and nutrition, green industrial technology, and creative lifestyle design. China is Norway's largest trading partner in Asia, and about 160 Norwegian companies have established operations in China.
China Foreign Economic Cooperation (Beijing) Science and Trade Co. , Ltd. focuses on bilateral goods trade between China and Azerbaijan, bringing Azerbaijani agricultural products into the Chinese market while exporting Chinese-made goods such as small home appliances and home building materials to Azerbaijan. During the fair, COFCO Group led a joint initiative with Bunge, China Mobile, Cainiao and Agricultural Bank of China to improve domestic and international grain logistics corridors and enhance the coordination efficiency of the global agricultural and food supply chain. Takeda Pharmaceutical, exhibiting for the first time, presented the results of its global innovation in the Chinese market, the latest progress of its global research and development pipeline, and its work in digital technology, patient services and sustainable development, and jointly released several innovative cooperation projects with partners.
Schneider Electric signed contracts with multiple customers during the fair, covering traditional industry, high-end manufacturing and new energy, and spanning consulting, retrofitting, operations and maintenance, and software and digital services. The Schneider Electric authorized low-voltage variable frequency drive ecosystem joint service stations, built with the first seven service partners, were formally established to provide end users across industries with one-stop services covering the full life cycle of variable frequency drives. In the first half of 2026, China's total services imports and exports reached RMB 3.8 trillion, up 8.3% year on year, with services exports rising 17.6%.
Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi said that in recent years Chinese and Pakistani companies have signed a number of memorandums of understanding and agreements, and more Pakistani companies have entered the Chinese market. More than 20 Pakistani companies appeared at this edition of the fair, with business spanning agriculture, energy, infrastructure, trade in services, and healthcare. Ernst & Young, exhibiting for the seventh consecutive year, presented its one-stop corporate globalization service system, covering areas such as interpretation of overseas investment policies and environmental, social and governance (ESG) compliance risk management, and providing services throughout pre-investment planning, transaction execution and post-investment management.
