STAR Market Margin Balances Rise to RMB358.56 Billion on August 14
Margin trading and securities lending balances on Shanghai's STAR Market reached RMB358.563 billion as of August 14, up RMB491 million from the prior session. Financing balances rose RMB494 million to RMB356.746 billion, while securities lending balances fell RMB3.11 million to RMB1.817 billion. Among individual stocks, 277 saw financing balances increase and 323 decline, while 222 saw securities lending balances rise and 197 fall. Cambricon held the largest financing balance at RMB18.557 billion.
As of August 14, margin trading and securities lending balances on the STAR Market totaled RMB358.563 billion, an increase of RMB491 million from the previous trading day. Financing balances stood at RMB356.746 billion, up RMB494 million from the prior session, while securities lending balances totaled RMB1.817 billion, down RMB3.11 million.
By individual stock, 277 STAR Market stocks saw their financing balances increase from the prior session, while 323 declined. Yifei Laser, C Guoyi and Weidao Nano posted the largest percentage gains in financing balances, rising 79.09%, 34.08% and 31.86% respectively. Bohui Tech, Jiaocheng Ultrasonic and Mengke Pharma recorded the steepest declines, falling 13.66%, 10.10% and 9.89% respectively.
On the securities lending side, 222 STAR Market stocks saw balances increase and 197 decline. Fudan Zhangjiang, Fuxin Tech and Bayi Shikong posted the largest percentage gains in securities lending balances, rising 494.69%, 195.86% and 166.98% respectively. Liyang Chip, Mingwei Electronics and Dingyang Tech recorded the steepest declines, falling 100.00%, 77.72% and 75.58% respectively.
The STAR Market stock with the largest financing balance was Cambricon at RMB18.557 billion, followed by Montage Technology at RMB15.038 billion and Changxin Tech at RMB12.401 billion. Cambricon also held the largest securities lending balance at RMB96 million, followed by AMEC at RMB64 million and Montage Technology at RMB61 million.
Recent trading data shows the August 14 balance of RMB358.563 billion represented an increase of RMB491 million from RMB358.072 billion on August 13. The August 13 balance declined RMB533 million from the prior session. August 12 saw balances of RMB358.605 billion, up RMB1.775 billion; August 11 recorded RMB356.830 billion, down RMB1.552 billion; August 10 posted RMB358.382 billion, up RMB1.843 billion; and August 7 recorded RMB356.539 billion, up RMB2.768 billion. August 6 balances reached RMB353.771 billion, up RMB2.638 billion; August 5 rose to RMB351.133 billion, up RMB5.732 billion; August 4 increased to RMB345.401 billion, up RMB2.821 billion; and August 3 declined to RMB342.580 billion, down RMB4.174 billion.
For late July, July 31 balances totaled RMB346.754 billion, up RMB3.677 billion; July 30 fell to RMB343.077 billion, down RMB7.547 billion; July 29 slipped to RMB350.624 billion, down RMB6.223 billion; July 28 eased to RMB356.847 billion, down RMB6.742 billion; July 27 rose to RMB363.589 billion, up RMB13.972 billion; July 24 declined to RMB349.617 billion, down RMB2.878 billion; July 23 slipped to RMB352.495 billion, down RMB3.309 billion; July 22 increased to RMB355.804 billion, up RMB2.540 billion; July 21 rose to RMB353.264 billion, up RMB1.580 billion; and July 20 fell to RMB351.683 billion, down RMB14.635 billion.
