AI, Semiconductor Exports Surge in H1 2026; Wuxi Back in Top 10, Suzhou AI Trade 600B Yuan
In the first half of 2026, several Chinese foreign-trade hubs reported strong export growth in AI and semiconductor products. Wuxi's total trade reached 499.1 billion yuan, up 28.5%, returning to the national top 10 after eight years, with exports growing 35.5%—the fastest among the top 10. Suzhou's trade approached 2 trillion yuan, up 40.9%, and its AI-related trade exceeded 600 billion yuan, more than doubling. Xi'an's integrated circuit trade totaled 267.8 billion yuan. Zhongshan's IC exports surged 454.1%. Wuxi's AI product exports rose 75.3% to 179.6 billion yuan, and computer parts exports jumped 4.6 times. South Korean firms expanded investments: SK Hynix invested 581.1 billion won in Wuxi, and Samsung invested 465.4 billion won in Xi'an.
