China's first-half 2026 GDP reached RMB 69.57 trillion, up 4.7% year on year, with the tertiary sector adding RMB 41.37 trillion, up 5.2%. To boost summer consumption, regions nationwide launched cultural tourism activities, including Guizhou's cool-climate retreats, Sanya's island stamp-collection tours, Chongqing's night-time performances, and Heilongjiang's 100-day summer escape initiative. Shaoxing, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, and Ordos also introduced themed events, immersive experiences, and traditional cultural offerings to attract visitors and stimulate spending.
